hello beautiful people! its been pretty crazy down here on this side of the world. let me explain. this past week was the 18th of september, basically the independence day of chile. it was a huge ordeal for the peeps down here in chile to have literally so much meat. basically, everybody does this stuff called asados, which are huge bbqs. they fly these little kites everywhere, and it is really just a huge party for a day. we were walking down the street on this day, and these random people invited us into their home to have meat and empenadas and food! turns out, these people we ate with were less actives that werent in the ward directory! the mom in the house is like super old, and has had problems walking and getting to church. we gave her a priesthood blessing and made plans with her and her family to help them come back to church......blessings! one of the coolest things that happened this week was that we set two baptismal dates! one is with Alexander, this super energetic thirteen year old kid that loves the gospel and the people of the ward. he is progressing super fast. we put another date with hermana Inastrosa, an investigator that had been investigating the church for SO LONG. it was a tender experience, because they are going to come unto christ! THIS! this is why i am here! i got freakishly sick during the week. it was really bad. i slept for 11 hours one day and i couldn't even move. it was baaaddd. we ended up not leaving the house at all that day. i felt so bad for my companion, what a boring day for him. its not like he can just netflix binge all day to pass the time. honestly it was prob from eating a small cows worth of meat on independence day . funny thing that happened this week was when we were approached by a drunk guy right outside our house. we were sitting there, waiting for our other house mates to come back from a cita, and this smashed drunk guy comes up and starts telling my companion to go back home and visit his mom. he kept trying to tell me i was chilean? "why are you talking like a white guy, speak chilean!" it was really good. after about thirty minutes of pure nonsense and tom foolery, he walked away and turned the corner. while we were trying to process on what just happened, the dude starts heading back our way. my comp and i literally sprint the other direction, so we didn't have listen to him talk to us about how im not the ethnicity he wants me to be, and our families back in the states. loev you all! EKW VIVA CHILE! the entire Santiago south mission. thats a lot of missionaries considering we are in the smallest mission (geographically) in the church (besides temple square in SLC) the mission is about 5 miles wide and 10 miles long blessed because I got a pic of the drunk guy that was creeping on us love love love missionarydelivery.com is a really cool missionary delivery service down here that my mom orders from (shipping packages from the states is expensive) she picks stuff from the website, then they box it up all cute, and then hunt me down to deliver it. literally the best. thanks mom!
