hey all you on the other side of the planet! this week was another pretty normal week for irigoyen and i. we achieved a lot of lessons this week, and we were able to find 6 new people to teach!
i went on divisions with tilghman this week again and it was awesome! we were able to get 6 lessons in one day, and we were able see some super sick miracles. we were in a lesson with a less active and she kind of just broke down crying in the middle of the lesson. she told us that her dad was dying here soon due to a tumor in his brain. we kind of stopped the lesson, and talked it out with her. i remembered a scripture in alma 5, where it talks about how god knows each and everyone of us individually. it really helped her out with the struggles that she is facing, and we were able to see a change in heart in her. she said she is going to go back to church! YAY! one of the things that irigoyen and i are trying to work on is unity while we teach. one of the things that is really important while we teach as missionaries is trying to have one voice while we explain the doctrine to people. it gets really weird when two people are throwing in a whole bunch of ideas and scriptures being thrown out and stuff. we were able to see some people change their minds when we applied the principles that we learned and practiced! i am only on week 3 with him, so hopefully that it is going to get better with my bb boy here in the field. one thing that i have noticed while being here on the mission is the amount of love that one person can get while they serve the lord. believe me, i used to LOVE being with people and talking to them and sharing ideas and philosophies and all that mess. ive noticed that while i have been on the mission, i have been able to develop a more profound love for the people i teach. like, just being able to use the message of the restored gospel and expressing the love that the savior has for all of us, makes me literally so happy! it makes me want the salvation of the people here in los castaños! this week is the purge down here in chile. basically, there are two days in the year (tomorrow, and September 13th) where the teenagers literally go full angst/grunge and set fires and cut electricity wires and all that, so we have to stay inside on thrusday so we dont get burned or shot and stuff. wish me luck! love you all to the moon and back! EKW PS-Shout out to my parents for sending my a new camera (don't worry mom, i will guard it with my life)...sick pics coming your way! These pics are some old ones and a few new ones...but all just random ones
