hello people on the other side of the world! this past week has been a rollercoaster of emotions! let me explain. in my sector of the mission (los raulies, el bosque) there are a lot of people that shut the doors in our faces. no one really wants to seem to take us in and listen to the message of the restored church. the conversations at the door normally go something like," hi hows a going neighbor! we just wanted to get to know our neighbors and see how you were doing!" "OOOHHH YA PO I ALREADY HAVE MY RELIGION I AM (insert religion here) AND I DONT BELIEVE IN ANYTHING YOU HAVE TO SAY" "oh..um but are you doing good, anything that you need?" then they promptly shut the door in our face. when people say that the rejection of a mission is hard, they truly mean it. the only thing that you have to do is keep your head high because you know god is on your side. one of the lessons that elder scott and i were trying to put into play this week was to compare the gospel to like building a fire. you can light a match and have it burn for a little bit, but once you thrown that into a fire, you have to keep adding wood to your fire to keep the wood burning. we have to keep our testimony lit with the things of the gospel, like reading the scriptures and going to church! if any of you want to get your match lit, go and talk to the missionaries ;). we also had the chance to go out of the mission and go to maipú, a city in the santiago chile west mission to hear from one of the 70, and our mission presidents! it was such an awesome conference. my mission president talked about one of the verses in moses 4, after the prophet felt this HUGE spiritual experience, and then satan came by to tempt him. basically, he responded with,"who the heck are you? i know i am a son of god, so why are you here". like, the biggest sass reply in the whole world. it was such an awesome talk! sadly, this week was changes. i had to say goodbye to elder scott as my trainer....im staying here in el bosque for another change, but my new companion is awesome! elder whittaker is from tennessee and loves sports to death. hes not a stranger to me, because he lived in my house with another companion for the past few months. he wants to be a psychologist after the mission and go into the military after college! im literally so excited to see how he and i take on the sector and baptize people! elder scott says change is good in the mission, even though im really going to miss having him around! love you all to the moon and back! EKW bye elder scott...literally the best trainer ever! we saved this dog from getting attacked from huge dogs and she came with us and proselyted with us for the whole day me an whitaker (my new comp) We are are going to kill it this change! this is the only pic we have together so far. we weren't ready for the picture...oh well, more to come (look at how awkward we look!) also, mom, my suit is literally falling off me...maybe a new smaller one for Christmas?? we cleaned the chapel and this cat came and hung out with me the entire time
