hey you folks on the other side of the world! i hope you all ate a ton for thanksgiving! this week down here in chile was pretty good! allow me to explain. a couple of weeks ago, we were walking around the sector just contacting people because our citas fell through. we were walking on the very edge of our sector, and we saw this woman. she had about 20 piercings in her face, was wearing a iron maiden shirt, with a huge chain on her belt, and with a bag of bread. i was kind of afraid to try and talk to her, but my companion went in for it. turns out, she got baptized when she was 8, and now has six kids alone. she wants her kids to learn about jesus christ and his teachings, and she was wondering how on earth she could go and find some missionaries to help her. we set a return cita with her, and her family is the cutest little family ever! her name is Daniela, and she is the nicest woman i have met here in chile. her kids are so respectful, and loved the lesson about the restoration. it was awesome! real testimony builder for just opening your mouth and talking to everyone! update with fernando and pato: they accepted our baptismal invitation! they are going to get baptized in january, and they are literally so excited!! they are dating and live together, but they are finding a new place for pato so he can ive there for a while before they get married! they are the coolest people ever. i am so excited to see where they go with the gospel in the future! we also have been teaching this other single mom named kata. she lives with her parents and has a daughter. she is 26 years old, and loves to listen and learn our messages. we were teaching her about faith and repentance when she was like,"ya ok but like when can i get baptized thought because i feel like this is the right thing for me." my comp and i got thrown back and got whiplash by her statement. she will get baptized soon too!! miracles people. thats all we need. some miracles, faith, and some elbow grease. if any of you havent seen the light the world video, LITERALLY GO AND WATCH IT RIGHT NOW.....AND DO THE CALENDAR! i cried when i saw the video because i just love christmas and service. i challenge all of you to try and spice up your christmas season with some service for your neighbors! love you all to the moon and back! chao for now. EKW we went to go and explore an abandoned train station with come cool graffiti (me and my comp elder whitaker) the train station. there was a whole bunch of hobos no caption, just a cool pic disney attire for life
